Lil' fighter can be obtained by completing combat related 
Quests. This combat pet acts as an equipment piece for the player's pet slot to increase the player's melee strength and melee accuracy. Combat pets are different from skilling pets in that they have no tasks to do independently. Lil' fighter will only be active while equipped when the player is in combat while using melee.
Combat Pet
While equipped Lil' fighter will receive 20% of the experience that the player gains in combat, so long as the attack style used is melee. This 20% is a bonus and is not subtracted from the experience that the player earned.
In addition to leveling up, Lil' fighter also has an upgrade tier table. Upon reaching level 10/25/40/50/70/85/105 it can be upgraded by sacrificing gemstones.
